Reporting Bugs in the Handle.Net Software

Please report bugs in the HANDLE.NET software to hdladmin@cnri.reston.va.us, and include the following information in your bug report:

• A one-line concise summary of the problem
• The bug type: minor, major, or feature request
• The name and version of the HANDLE.NET software in which the bug occurs
• The platform on which the bug occurs (OS version, other if relevant)
• An example to reproduce the bug (self-contained code if at all possible)
• A further explanation of the bug

If you send a fix, please incorporate the two paragraphs below in your email.

"I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, this contribution is free of any claims of myself or third parties under copyright, patent or other rights or interests. I hereby grant to CNRI a nonexclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to reproduce, distribute, perform and/or display publicly, prepare derivative versions, and otherwise use this contribution as part of the HANDLE.NET software at no cost to CNRI or its licensed users, and to authorize others to do so."

"I acknowledge that CNRI may, at its sole discretion, decide whether or not to incorporate this contribution in the HANDLE.NET software."

Substantial contributions require a signature. If you are contributing a larger, more complicated fix than a minor bug, please print the Handle.Net Software License Agreement: Contributions below, add the date, your name, and email address as requested, sign it, and mail it along with your contribution and documentation to:

It is also acceptable for you to sign the Agreement, scan and email the signed Agreement along with your contribution and documentation to the Handle.Net Registry Administrator at hdladmin@cnri.reston.va.us.

HANDLE.NET SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT: CONTRIBUTION

CNRI acknowledges, with thanks, the receipt of the patch, suggestion, concept, documentation or other enhancement and/or correction to the HANDLE.NET software that was submitted to CNRI by Licensee and incorporated herein by reference ("Licensee's Contribution"). The Contribution consists of <add brief description>.

Licensee confirms to CNRI that, to the best of Licensee's knowledge and belief, Licensee's Contribution is free of any claims of Licensee or third parties under copyright, patent or other rights or interests. Licensee hereby grants to CNRI a nonexclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to reproduce, distribute, perform and/or display publicly, prepare derivative versions, and otherwise use Licensee's Contribution as part of the HANDLE.NET software, or any derivative versions thereof, at no cost to CNRI or its licensed users and without any accounting obligation to Licensee of any kind, and to authorize others to do so.

Licensee hereby acknowledges that CNRI may, at its sole discretion, decide whether or not to incorporate Licensee's Contribution in the HANDLE.NET software.
